Biography

Jason leads the Firm’s Family Law and Real Estate practice groups.  While Jason’s areas of practice have become more focused over the years, Jason has extensive litigation experience and has successfully represented the Firm’s clients in matters ranging from surety law and products liability to contested custody disputes.  Jason has achieved significant victories on behalf of the Firm’s clients in state and federal courts, as well as through alternative dispute processes such as arbitration and mediation. Jason has argued numerous cases before the New Jersey and New York Appellate Courts as well as the Supreme Court of New Jersey, most notably serving as plaintiffs’ lead counsel in the landmark New Jersey Supreme Court decision in D’Agostino v. Maldonado – a case in which Jason successfully represented the Firm’s clients in applying the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act to a mortgage foreclosure rescue scam.  The breadth of Jason’s legal experience, in conjunction with his previous experience as a high school history teacher, provide him with a unique and practical perspective in achieving his clients’ goals and objectives.

Jason’s Family Law practice includes the successful representation of clients in matters involving child custody and support, spousal support, equitable distribution, domestic violence, and the negotiation and preparation of settlement agreements.  Jason also has extensive experience in negotiating and drafting premarital agreements and has successfully represented the Firm’s clients in proceedings involving the enforceability of these agreements. Jason has served as a volunteer attorney for the Bergen County Domestic Violence Legal Advocacy Project, where he represented victims of domestic violence, and presently serves as a panelist on the Bergen County Matrimonial Early Settlement Panel.

Jason’s Real Estate practice is equally diverse.  Jason regularly represents buyers and sellers of real property including but not limited to apartment buildings, commercial and residential condominium units, multi-family homes, retail properties, shopping centers and vacant land.  The scope of Jason’s engagement includes the negotiation and preparation of purchase and sale agreements as well as conducting due diligence reviews.  Jason also negotiates, prepares and reviews commercial and residential leases on behalf of landlords and tenants.

Irrespective of the engagement, Jason prides himself on focusing on the individual goals and needs for every client in order to achieve extraordinary results in the most cost-effective manner possible.
